A once dilapidated fibro cottage preserves the personality of its past, post-revitalisation, in Canberra’s Inner North. A nod to existing materials and proportions, its contemporary architecture plays nicely with the timeless foundations of the original build.
Despite the site’s irregular shape, all bedrooms and living spaces in this family home benefit from northern orientation. Designing for a carbon-conscious future, solar panel installation was a key consideration, with specific roof areas altered to optimise on-site power generation.
Flexible rear additions offer space for everyday use and can function as an independent dwelling for multi-generational living.
